Australian Standard Method of Measurement (ASSM):

  • Section 11
  • We use the ASSM to describe the scope for woodwork as a guide only
  • Any agreed or contract scope of work will more than likely vary from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The scope of work set out in Rawlinsons also varies from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The ASSM often includes the same items of work under multiple Sections

Scope of work under ASSM:

  • Woodwork including structural timbers | prefabricated roof trusses | angle fillets, grounds, battens and similar items | fascia boards and barge boards | insulation | boarding | sanding and polishing timber floors | linings, panelled linings and casings | framed screens | windows | door frames and linings | shop fronts | side lights and fan lights | windows, linings, pelmets, etc | hatches, access panels, ceilings, manholes and similar items | removable timber louvre blades | louvred panels | skirtings, cornices, dado and picture rails, architraves, applied moulds and similar items | external stairs | internal stairs | shelving, seats etc |fittings to special design or detail | fencing | bolts | explosive power fixings, masonry bolt anchors, chemical anchors, connectors and similar items
