Australian Standard Method of Measurement (ASSM):

  • Section 10
  • We use the ASSM to describe the scope for metalwork as a guide only
  • Any agreed or contract scope of work will more than likely vary from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The scope of work set out in Rawlinsons also varies from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The ASSM often includes the same items of work under multiple Sections

Scope of work under ASSM:

  • Metal work including steel lintels and arch bars | steel jambs and threshold guards | floor ducts and frames | gratings, covers and frames | mat frames | ladders | columns, struts, braces and similar supports | sundry brackets and straps | individual step rungs and similar items | sheet metal coverings and linings | ducts and flues | canopies | cornices, angle beads and similar items | ducted skirtings | balustrades and handrails | wire mesh screens, fences and similar items | ornamental grills, vent registers, grates, trellis work and similar items | metal furniture | tie rods | bolts | explosive power fixings, masonry bolt anchors, chemical anchors, connectors and similar items
