Australian Standard Method of Measurement (ASSM):

  • Section 23
  • We use the ASSM to describe the scope for hydraulic as a guide only
  • Any agreed or contract scope of work will more than likely vary from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The scope of work set out in Rawlinsons also varies from the scope of work under the ASSM
  • The ASSM often includes the same items of work under multiple Sections

Scope of work under ASSM:

  • Pipework, laid, embedded, fixed or suspended | fire rate sleeves | lagging | anti-syphon connection arms | traps, floor gullies, tundishes, flap valves, gratings and similar items | cowls, gratings, stays | connection to mains, installation of meters and similar items | cocks, valves, etc | tanks, trays, etc | fixtures, appliances and equipment | pits, etc | excavation in rock

Australian/New Zealand Standards:

  • Installation: AS/NZS 3500 – This Standard relates to plumbing and drainage installation, with some 82 updates, amendments and related documents, there is too much information to list here | AS/NZS 3497:1998 and AS/NZS 3497:1998 (drinking water treatment units)
  • Water heaters and hot water: AS 3498-1995 to AS 3498-2009
  • General Conditions of Contract: AS 2124, 2125, 2127-1992/Amdt 1-2000

  • Flexible hose connectors: AS/NZS 3499:1997 to AS/NZS 3499:2006/Amdt 1:2009
  • Testing (fixtures): AS 3558.1-1999 to AS 3558.0-2006
